I met Steve Kuenzier who owns the local Corrales bike shop, Stevie's Happy Bikes.  He says that his shop has allowed him to live the kind of life he's always wanted. Each day it's open he gets to do something he loves and he encourages everyone to ride for the fun of it. He especially likes long rides and takes off weeks at a time to do them.

Growing up he spent a lot of time out in nature with his father on trips around the Southwest looking for cactus. (His dad is an authority on cactus.)

As a kid Steve was diagnosed with a neurological disease and told by a doctor that he would be in a wheelchair by 18 and that under no circumstances was he to ride a bicycle.  In 2000, more than 20 years after his diagnosis, he completed a coast-to-coast bicycle trip that he dedicated to that doctor.
